Chase definition and meaning

Chase is a gambling term used both in sportsbooks and casinos. The term refers to a person who continues to gamble in the hope they can recover their money after making a losing bet.

Naturally, for many players, the goal of gambling is to earn money and be in the black at the end of their gaming session. However, that’s not always the case; quite often, after losing a few hands in a row, players end up on a chase to at least break even, which is how the term chase started being used in casinos.

What’s more, being on a chase is often accompanied by poor betting decisions and aggressive betting, which negatively affects the player’s bankroll. Therefore, make sure you don’t end up on a chase and always keep your cool when betting.
